In a historic move to attract Nepalese talent, the South Korean Embassy has unveiled simplified admission criteria for bachelor’s and master’s programs, effective immediately. The changes mark the largest relaxation of academic requirements in a decade.

1. Academic Thresholds
- GPA: Maintained at 3.2/4.0 but with expanded recognition of Nepalese grading systems.
- IELTS: Dramatically reduced from 7.0 to 5.5 (minimum 5.0 per section).
2. Procedural Changes
- TOPIK Exemption: English-track applicants no longer need Korean language certification.
- Group Quotas: Intake per university program capped at 30 students (down from 50) to prevent overcrowding.
